Week 14 Deliverables

With the final field outing, the focus of the flight was to compare the south burn plot with past field outings. On top of that, GCPs were placed, but Arc Collector was also used to compare the location of the actual GCPs compared to where the phone is triangulated when the point is captured over the GCP.

For this flight, the same area was used. It was at PWA and covered the construction site, south burn plot, and the salamander tanks. The metadata for the flight is posted below.

Notes:

  • Winds: 18 knots, gusting 32 knots
  • There were issues with the wind while the UAV was taking off but issues did not persist

After processing the data within Pix4DMapper, the orthomosaic was used to generate two separate maps. The quality report can be viewed here. The map that was created to compare the GCP points to the Arc Collector points is shown in Figure 1

Figure 1 shows the two different points in this orthomosaic.

The orthomosaic was then used in junction with the week 12 and 13 orthomosaics to compare the south burn plot. Another map was generated for the comparisons. The map created is displayed in Figure 2.

Figure 2 shows the south burn plot compared to three different dates.
